Majestic SEO’s Latest Updates

Everybody’s favorite SEO tool, MajesticSEO, has a new website categorization feature that’s got the internet world buzzing. Using the 700+ billion pages in their Fresh index, they have worked out a way to classify the search into one of their nearly 1,000 categories. From that, a “trust flow” has been established, allowing the cream of the website crop to rise to the top. For example, take a look at’s trust flow and citation rankings here. Generating Celebrity Online: A YouTube Experiment

YouTube is becoming a hugely important tool for generating celebrity or “trust” of content creators or respected authorities. According to an article in Ad Age, Google is investing $100 million to do traditional media advertising for three content creators on the video channel. These video-bloggers are Michelle Phan, a make-up how to video star, Bethany Mota, a fashion blogger and Rosanna Pansino, a baking specialist. Expect to see both television and traditional media like magazines used, as well as online. The question remains though — will this kind of investment enable Google to create “celebrity” through using advertising? Getting A Break From Technology

While most of the world has started living its life virtually, it’s important to stop and take a look around to see what you’re missing. SEO Intern Vincent Crocitto presented a video entitled, Look Up, which has been making the rounds among social sharing circles. Taking the idea to heart, Vincent spent the entire weekend without his phone — a concept that would drive most 20-year-old’s to insanity. Instead of feeling cut off, Vincent commented that he was better able to look around and enjoy his time at a state park, rather than concentrating on taking photos, putting them on Instagram or messaging his friends.
