How Do I Secure My Ranks After Panda?by Developer
Hey guys, it is Jason from Everspark Interactive and today we are going to be addressing a very crucial issue. By now we have all heard about the changes in the Google Algorithm known as Panda and we have received a flood of emails about the changes. One of the most important things that seems to be on everybody’s mind is how they can secure their ranks with Google at this crucial time.
While most of the websites that have been targeted are those low quality sites and content farms, it is possible that even high quality and professional sites can be affected by these changes. If you are affected, you will see a decrease in the overall ranking of your site. Of course, no one wants this to happen, so the question remains: what can you do to secure your high ranking status?
It is important for business owners and webmasters to understand that having low quality content anywhere on your site can and will impact the overall site’s ranking. Though having high quality content has always been important, the recent changes have made it even more necessary. Spend some time going over the pages on your site and making sure that everything is in order. Ask yourself, is this page really useful to my visitors? Does this page provide relevant and useful information? If you answer no to these questions, then it is time to start removing those pages and updating them with more quality content.
After you have updated your content, there are also numerous other factors that you can look out for when trying to secure your ranks. Let’s talk about a few of the other things that you can do to make sure that Google does not penalize your site.
Take a look at your website as a whole. While the exact formula that Google uses is still considered a big dark secret, it has been rumored that the overall design of your website does indeed play a role in determining the quality of a site. It is very likely that the overall user experience plays a role in what constitutes a low quality site. Try and make sure that your website has a user-friendly environment and that the pages are easy to navigate. Having a professionally designed website will ensure that your overall user’s experience is a positive one.
You will also want to check your advertisement- to-content ratio. If you have no ads, you have nothing to worry about. However, if you do have some ads, just be sure that you do not have more ads than relevant content. Google is trying to ensure a positive searching experience and many people will hate to go to a site that is over-run with ads. Keep that in mind should you choose to have ads on your website.
Lastly, you will want to always practice good SEO techniques. Do not try and cheat Google and use what we refer to as “black hat techniques.” If you follow Google’s rules when it comes to SEO, not only will you keep the search engine happy, but you will also keep your visitors happy. If you need some tips or advice on what these proper SEO techniques are, feel free to browse our website or give us a call. There is never a charge to evaluate your site.
As Panda continues to have its effects on websites across the globe, you can count on us to keep you updated and informed. Thanks for watching and we will see you next time.
